Our RBT 40-Hour Training​

The Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) training program covers the tasks in the Registered Behavior Technician Task List (2nd ed.), includes 3 hours on the RBT Ethics Code 2.0, and 1 hour on supervision. This training has been designed to meet the 40-hour training requirement for the RBT certificate. The program is offered independent of the BACB.

Registered Behavior Technician

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT®) is a paraprofessional certified in behavior analysis. RBTs assist in delivering behavior-analytic services and practice under the direction and close supervision of an RBT Supervisor and/or an RBT Requirements Coordinator, who are responsible for all work RBTs perform.

Become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT®)

To obtain the RBT credential through the BACBA®, the following steps must be completed

  1. Be at least 18 years of age
  2. Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  3. Pass a criminal background check to be completed within 180 days of the RBT application
  4. Complete the 40-hour RBT training course (This is what we provide)
  5. Complete the RBT competency assessment conducted by Responsible or Assistant Assessor.
  6. Apply (and pay the application fee) for the RBT credential. If the BACB accepts your application, you will be able to register to take the RBT exam at a Pearson center.
  7. Pass the RBT exam
